The use of XML for storage and disclosure of data is widespread these days.
As an early adopter we have quite some experience in converting and transforming files to and from XML.
We have written extensive stylesheet to transform propietary XML formats to valid XML.
DCC has already converted many standard typesetting files to any desired XML format. The relationship between automatic conversion and manual tagging strongly depends on the systematic use of the same layout throughout documents and the actual level of structure of their content.
An XML file should of course always be checked to make sure it complies with its DTD or its schema. The exported file will almost never be directly satisfactory. We will thus have to perform a new conversion to obtain suitable and valid XML. The result of this operation depends heavily on the way the source file was designed.
Our services also include conversion and manual refining and enrichment from tagged text and HTML sources to required XML standards.
